Highlights

Another successful week at the Jackson household:  We are all still alive.
Here are the highlights from this week:

  • Benj got a new balance bike which is more frustrating than fun.
  • Still loving dancing to music, Benj now tries to get Maddie to join in the fun by moving her arms up and down.
  • Dad got to come to the zoo, which meant Benj got to roam free.  He loved the tamarin monkeys the most and wanted to stay at their cage all day.
  • Jesse is taking over the world at Questar and successfully taking on his new responsibilities.
  • Benj let me go to gym class twice this week.  He just sits strapped in the stroller with some treats for an hour watching the ladies work out and the other kids play.  He does not want to interact with anyone.
  • The lowpoint hit Wednesday afternoon.  I was nursing Maddie and Benj didn't like it.  He hit her in the face as hard as he could.  He was sent to the bedroom as punishment (and mostly so I could finish feeding the baby).  A few minutes later, the fire alarm went off.  The sound was so piercing loud, both kids were screaming.  I managed to get them outside, but then Benjamin would not let me go back inside to turn it off; he was FREAKING out.  So I ran him over to the neighbor's house while I figured out a way to get to the fire alarm in our vaulted ceiling.  Such a pain!  In the meantime, dinner was BURNING in the oven.  This is what happens when I am too distracted with two children.  I decided I might be done making dinners.    The redeeming moment though, was when I went to get Benj out of his punishment, the first thing he wanted was a hug from mom.  Sweet child-like forgiveness.
  • The funniest thing was on Thursday night when I was giving B a bath.  He heard a loud motorcycle drive by and it scared him so much, in a frenzy, he full-on dove head first out of the bath to get closer to his mom.
  • We went to Wheeler Farm with Benjamin's new friend Kainoa and my old friend Elisa.
  • My arms are always full, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Just noticed your little book reading widget thingy. Just had to comment on The Glass Castle. I had to read it for nursing school and LOVED it. Amazing. Cute hair, cute kids, cute blog.
